Carmen Villarreal of Casa San Matías created Release 40 from three carefully selected casks: two tequilas aged ten years in ex-bourbon barrels and a third aged seven years in a Port pipe. This Extra Añejo balances extended maturation with the character of cooked agave, bringing together creamy sweetness, fruit and oak spice.

Flavor Profile

Roasted nuts and pineapple on the nose, followed by dulce de leche, cooked agave, plum, cinnamon and clove. Dark chocolate and floral honey round out the finish.
