The Beast, Distiller's Choice
Mortlach Distiller's Dram 16 Year Old is the expression that the distillery's own team reaches for — a Speyside single malt that perfectly balances the distillery's legendary meaty, rich character with 16 years of sherry cask maturation. This is Mortlach at its most accessible and rewarding: bold enough to satisfy the Beast's reputation, refined enough to be deeply approachable.
- Nose: Rich and complex — dark dried fruit, warm spice, and a generous sherry sweetness with notes of dark chocolate, leather, and a distinctive meaty depth
- Palate: Full-bodied and beautifully layered — stewed plum, toffee, cinnamon, and a bold richness with a velvety sherry sweetness that carries the 16 years of maturation with confidence
- Finish: Long and warming with lingering dark fruit, chocolate, and a satisfying savory warmth
