Chip Tate, founder of Balcones Distilling and a pioneer of the American craft whiskey movement, brings his signature vision and technical mastery to this extraordinary 750ml expression.

The World Whiskey Society (WWS) comprises an ultra-premium collection of rare expressions previously unavailable to even the most sophisticated whiskey enthusiasts. 
This year, WWS is partnering with Chip Tate to create an unprecedented Japanese Single Malt in Bourbon and Port Ruby barrels. 

Distilled in Japan and composed of 100% Australian Malt, this limited release whisky brings together Chip Tate's unique whisky sensibility to pair Japanese single malt whisky with select bourbon and Port Ruby barrels, complete with WWS's renowned finishing methods to create a one-of-a-kind Japanese single malt. 

Tasting Notes

Enjoy the full nose of wine-soaked ripe pear, crème brûlée, with tones of golden raisin, baking spices, and a rich umami character. The elegant malty palate is not lost in the barrel finish wood. Finishes long and dry with lingering dark brown bread and salted caramel.
