Tequila Ocho Añejo is the aged expression from one of the most terroir-driven tequila brands in the world — co-founded by the late Tomas Estes and produced by the Camarena family at Destilería La Alteña in the Jalisco highlands. Ocho is famous for its single-estate, single-vintage approach: each release is made from agave grown on a specific ranch (fiñca) in a specific year, with the ranch name and harvest year on every bottle. The añejo is aged for exactly one year and one day in ex-bourbon barrels, preserving the distinctive terroir character of the source agave while adding warmth and complexity from the oak.

No two vintages are identical — Tequila Ocho Añejo is the expression for the drinker who understands that great tequila, like great wine, is shaped by the land and the season.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, and the distinctive mineral character of the highland fiñca
  • Palate: Smooth and complex — agave sweetness, vanilla, dried fruit, warm spice, and gentle oak
  • Finish: Long and elegant with lingering agave, vanilla, and terroir-driven mineral depth
