San Matias Tahona Tequila Reposado is the result of 130 years of experience and time-honored methods at Casa San Matias — one of Mexico's oldest tequila producers, established in 1886 in the Jalisco highlands. This 100% artisanal, small-batch reposado is made according to tradition: agave steamed in stone ovens, crushed with the original tahona stone from 1886, fermented in wooden vats, and distilled in copper pot stills — just as it was done centuries ago.

After distillation, the spirit is rested in American oak barrels to develop the warmth and depth of the reposado style while preserving the earthy, textured complexity that only tahona stone crushing can produce.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Earthy agave, roasted vegetal notes, vanilla, and light toasted oak
  • Palate: Rich and textured — agave character, mineral earthiness, vanilla, caramel, and gentle spice
  • Finish: Long and warm with lingering agave and earthy oak complexity
