Sagamore Spirit Rye Whiskey is a masterful blend of two straight rye mash bills — a high-rye and a low-rye — aged 4 to 6 years in high-char American oak barrels. The high-rye mash bill adds notes of cinnamon and clove, while the low-rye contributes caramel, honey, and citrus peel. The final spirit is proofed with limestone-filtered water from Sagamore's spring house, built in 1909, representing the team's thoughtful approach to crafting a classic Maryland-style rye.
Maryland rye has a distinct identity — softer and more approachable than Pennsylvania or Kentucky rye, with a balance of spice and sweetness that makes it endlessly versatile.
