San Baltazar Guelavila's Finest Espadín

Wahaka Mezcal Joven Espadín is a beautifully crafted artisanal mezcal from San Baltazar Guelavilá, a small village in the Tlacolula Valley of Oaxaca with a centuries-old mezcal-making tradition. Produced by the Morales family using traditional methods including pit-roasting, tahona milling, and open-air fermentation in pine wood vats, Wahaka Joven Espadín is a mezcal of genuine terroir and character — clean, smoky, and deeply expressive of its village and its makers.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh and inviting — roasted agave, citrus, and a warm smoke with notes of tropical fruit, fresh herbs, and a clean Tlacolula Valley character
Palate: Smooth and well-rounded — roasted agave sweetness, green fruit, and a warming smoke with a clean, traditional mezcal character
Finish: Medium-long and warming with lingering smoke, roasted agave, and a clean, mineral fade
