Cask #5 comes from Dread River Distilling Co. — the first distillery in downtown Birmingham in a century, named for a fabled underground river beneath the city. One of the most ambitious young distilleries in the Deep South, Dread River makes spirits that reflect the bold character of Birmingham. This 6-year, 4-month Alabama straight bourbon was made from 60% white corn, 30% winter wheat, and 10% malted barley, bottled at a commanding 141.8 proof cask strength with only 158 bottles produced.
