Lost Lantern hand-selected this historic cask from Day's Defile in Shelley, Idaho. Named for famous trapper John Day and the narrow gorges that scour Idaho's towering mountains, Day's Defile makes whiskies that reflect the climate and natural resources of the northern Rockies.

This 10-year-old straight bourbon whiskey is the oldest whiskey ever released from the state of Idaho. It was made from 76% corn, 11% triticale, and 13% malted barley. Distilled at a now-closed Idaho distillery, it was acquired by Day's Defile, who continued to age it for many years. The nose bursts with french vanilla, black cherry, and intense oak notes. The palate is extremely powerful, with big notes of clove and nutmeg. An intense bourbon from the mountains.

At a near-hazmat 154.4 proof with only 126 bottles produced, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of Idaho whiskey history. This is not just the oldest bourbon from Idaho—it's a testament to the patience and dedication required to create truly exceptional American whiskey.
