Colorado Grown. Open Fermentation. Dunnage Warehouse. Truly Unique.

Leopold Bros. Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon is one of the most genuinely distinctive American bourbons being made today — a grain-to-glass Colorado expression that breaks nearly every convention of the category. Open fermentation in wooden tanks with both house-cultured and indigenous yeast strains. Traditional pot distillation. Five years of aging on earthen floors in an unheated dunnage-style bonded warehouse. And a truly unique mashbill: 64% corn, 21% malted barley (malted on their own malting floor), and 15% Abruzzi heritage rye — all Colorado grown. The malted barley drives the flavor profile with lush, roasted, chocolatey, textured qualities rarely seen in American bourbon.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Rich chocolate, roasted grain, caramel, and a distinctive malt character from the high malted barley content
  • Palate: Lush and textured — dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, and a gentle rye spice with a full-bodied, dunnage-aged depth
  • Finish: Long and satisfying with lingering chocolate, malt, and a clean bonded close
