Green Chartreuse VEP — Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé — is the rarest and most revered expression in the Chartreuse range. Crafted by the Carthusian monks of the Grande Chartreuse monastery using the same secret recipe of 130 botanicals known only to two monks at any given time, VEP is aged far longer than the standard expression in large oak casks, allowing the botanicals to fully integrate and the spirit to reach a depth of complexity that is simply unmatched in the world of herbal liqueurs. Presented in a distinctive wax-sealed bottle, this is a collector's spirit as much as it is a drinking one.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Intensely aromatic and refined — fresh alpine herbs, spearmint, lemon balm, and a warm undercurrent of clove and saffron. More restrained and elegant than the standard expression.
Palate: Silky and full-bodied. Honey, anise, and green herbs lead with a layered botanical complexity that unfolds slowly — warming spice, dried flowers, and a subtle earthiness that speaks to years of oak aging.
Finish: Extraordinarily long and meditative. Mint, warm spice, and a lingering herbal sweetness that fades with remarkable grace.
