Coastal Peat from a Reborn Distillery
Glenglassaugh Torfa is the peated expression from one of Scotland's most storied comeback stories. The Glenglassaugh distillery, perched on the Aberdeenshire coast overlooking the Moray Firth, was silent for nearly 25 years before being revived in 2008. Torfa — meaning "peaty" in Old Norse — showcases the distillery's ability to produce a heavily peated spirit that still retains its distinctive coastal and fruity character. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks, this is a whisky that balances smoke and sweetness with remarkable elegance.
