Currach Single Malt Irish Whiskey is produced by Connacht Distillery in Ballina, County Mayo — on the wild Atlantic coast of western Ireland, where the landscape is as dramatic as the whiskey is distinctive. Named for the traditional Irish currach — the ancient skin-covered boat used by coastal fishermen for centuries — this single malt is a tribute to the rugged, maritime character of the west of Ireland.
Matured in Atlantic-facing warehouses where the sea air plays a role in the aging process, Currach is finished in ATLANTIC Kombu seaweed-charred casks — a genuinely unique finishing technique that imparts a subtle, briny maritime character unlike anything else in Irish whiskey. Bold, distinctive, and deeply rooted in place.
