Softly Charred, Deeply Rewarding

Buzzard's Roost Double Oak Char #1 Bourbon is a masterclass in restraint and refinement. By finishing in a second barrel with a lighter Char #1 toasting, this expression preserves the delicate grain character of the original distillate while layering in subtle wood influence — the result is a bourbon that's both approachable and surprisingly complex.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Gentle vanilla, toasted oak, light caramel, and a whisper of dried fruit with soft floral undertones.
  • Palate: Medium-bodied with sweet corn, honey, light toffee, and a touch of cinnamon spice — the Char #1 barrel keeps the wood influence elegant and restrained.
  • Finish: Clean and warm, with lingering vanilla sweetness, a hint of toasted grain, and a soft, dry oak close.
